When I close my eyes...

Graceful dreaming whispers a heart's desire,
The words like wine on my lips
A beauty that will never die
A beauty that can never be spoken

Sweet smelling spring morning meadow air
Humming in the breeze
Dew that reveals a secret
Dew that glistens like gems

Silk soft touches against my skin,
Waking me from my nightmares,
Awakening some thing in me
Feeling alive though I'm hardly breathing.

A part of your life that no longer is
That emptiness of a missing ring
The elegance of it's past
The elegance of the romance

The fairies that no one else sees,
That hope it's all real
Imaginary time
Imaginary hope

The comfort of knowing that tomorrow's another day
Screaming out inside you to bring morning light
Waiting for the sun to shine
Waiting for the birds to sing

The rush of the sea in tempest,
The salt taste upon my skin
Each strand of hair dancing
Each grain of sand softer

The beauty that will not last forever,
Slipping away as the sunlight fades,
All is lost to its evil power,
When shadows darken,

Oh when I close my eyes…
